Mortgage Resource Group is an Illinois Residential Mortgage Licensee (License Number #1031) operating under the State of Illinois' Office of the Banks of Real Estate*.

Established in 1989, Mortgage Resource Group has earned the reputation among homebuyers, attorneys, realtors and financial planners as a truly professional organization staffed by experienced, caring and knowledgeable people.

We understand that for most people, applying for a loan is a necessary chore to buying or refinancing a home. After all, who applies for a mortgage because it's fun? While we may not be able to make this process "fun", we can yet try and make it so efficient and stress-free that you can focus your attention on more important matters.

We realize it is hard to be all things to all people, so we have focused our energies into being the premier outlet for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA programs. This means we provide loans on single family homes, condominiums, and 2-4 unit apartment buildings. We handle both purchases and refinances, and we can do loans for investors as well as owner occupants.

Our Staff

	Jeff Magee, President jmagee@mrgloans.com Jeff Magee has been writing loan applications since 1984--back when every loan application was written out by hand, and the average time for loan processing was sixty days! The mortgage business has been transformed by technology. Now, borrowers can apply on-line, credit reports are instantly available, and loans can be approved in less than one hour! Jeff is a native of River Forest Il., and still resides there today. Jeff attended Oak Park-River Forest High School, and earned his BA degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has worked with thousands of borrowers in the local communities, personally closing over $500 million of mortgage loans. While active in management of the company, he still devotes the majority of his time to giving personalized service to his mortgage applicants and to his primary business partners, the local real estate professionals.
	Scott Webster, Loan Officer swebster@mrgloans.com Scott has worked for Mortgage Resource Group for the past fourteen years. He has an extensive educational, financial, business, and sales background that is uncommon in the mortgage industry. Having received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a masters degree in Finance and Marketing from the UCLA Graduate School of Management, Scott spent fourteen years as a Senior Product Manager, handling national accounts such as Sears and J.C. Penny. In order to spend more time with his family (he traveled constantly) and still work with people and finance, Scott joined his friend and neighbor, Jeff Magee, at Mortgage Resource Group. His ability to work with the most complicated financial situations, his knowledge, and his interpersonal skills ensure that you will get the service you desire and the loan that you need.
	Therese Thoreson, Loan Officer tthoreson@mrgloans.com Therese started with Mortgage Resource Group in 1992. She oversees all elements of loan processing and closing. She is the liaison between the Lenders we work with and you, the customer. She is an expert at processing all types of loans, including conventional, FHA, VA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Therese is also a licensed Loan Officer, and her customers get doubly good treatment as she brings her processing expertise to the transaction.
	Bill Skutta, Loan Officer wskutta@mrgloans.com Bill joined Mortgage Resource Group in 2003. He received his undergraduate degree from DePaul University and has significant work history in the legal field. After purchasing his first home, Bill decided he could be of best use to others looking to finance their homes. Since then, the mortgage industry has changed dramatically. Recently, Bill was featured on several Chicago-area AM radio stations to discuss the changes in mortgage financing and how FHA has helped more homebuyers achieve the American dream. Bill has trained extensively on current mortgage industry products and has the experience and the attention to detail to ensure you have a smooth transaction from the application all the way to the closing.
